Deputy Brent DeVenney of Buda (pictured with Rico)
is assigned as the Canine Officer for the Bureau County
Sheriff's Office in Princeton, Illinois. Rico, a three year
old Belgian Sheep Dog, entered service with the Sheriff's
Office in October of 2003.
Rico has been trained in a variety of disciplines, such as
tracking (of significant interest in missing persons cases),
Drug Detection (all of the current street drugs), and most
notably, Handler Protection (do not try and pet him!). We
are very pleased with this team's performance to date, and
we look forward to their many years of service to the
citizens of Bureau County. |
